Consultation has concluded

Mid-Western Regional Council owns and manages a number of facilities throughout the region including halls and community buildings, showgrounds, sporting fields, saleyards and airports.

Among these facilities is the Rylstone Caravan Park. Council has an opportunity to upgrade and expand the park to increase visitation to Rylstone and Kandos. Expansion of the caravan park will provide more accommodation options for visitors, encourage recreational vehicles (RVs) and caravans to the region and improve the towns' eligibility to apply for RV friendly status.

As part of the upgrade, Council is investigating installation of new amenities and camp kitchen at the park as well as increasing the number of sites from 29 to 49.

An additional 20 sites will accommodate an extra 40 visitors to region each week and weekend, and grow the region's capacity to increase tourism income.

Council is encouraging the community to provide their input into the proposal.

Council has secured $154,525 in grant funding from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund to upgrade Rylstone Caravan Park. As part of the project, the caravan park will be extended and approximately 20 additional powered and non-powered sites will be constructed. The caravan park's upgrade will also include the installation of new services including the construction of a new amenities building.

Expansion of the park will provide more accommodation options for visitors, encourage more Recreational Vehicles (RVs) to the region, and improve Rylstone’s eligibility to achieve RV Friendly Town status. The project will boost Rylstone’s capacity to increase tourism income and host more visitors year-round.

Council is contributing $325,475 for the $480,000 project, which is expected to commence later this year and be completed early 2022.
