Mudgee Water Park Officially Opened
Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders was joined by Mayor of the Mid-Western Region Des Kennedy to officially open the Mudgee Water Park today.
Jointly funded by Council and the NSW Government through its Stronger Country Communities Fund, the park is located at Mudgee Pool and caters for all children from toddlers to young adults.
Mayor Des Kennedy said there has been strong community support for a children’s water park for some time.
“A water park was identified by residents as one of their top three priority projects during community consultation and engagement for the Mid-Western Region Towards 2030 Community Plan in 2017,” Cr Kennedy said.
“The park has been open to the public since September and has been hugely popular with families throughout the region.
“I thank the NSW Government for supporting Council to deliver this project for the Region.”
Council secured $800,000 through the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund to support the project with a further $400,000 contributed by Council.
Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said the park is just one example of how the Stronger Country Communities Fund is making regional communities even better places to live.
"The NSW Government is proud to have been able to work with Mid-Western Regional Council to provide this excellent facility for all residents of the Mid-Western Region,” Mr Saunders said.
“Heading into summer I can see this park will be well-used by the children of this region.”
The park includes large water slide, rock pool, water spray platform, dumping bucket, spray cannons, jets and streams, caters for all children from toddlers to young adults.
Entry to Mudgee Water Park is included in the entry fee to Mudgee Pool.
