Mid-Western Regional Council is now seeking feedback from the community on the preferred option for a new bridge and associated road upgrades.

An assessment of the options for the proposed bridge crossing and road upgrades has been completed, in consultation with various stakeholders.

Each option considered several variables including cost, constructability, flood immunity, and environmental and community impacts. A concept design for the preferred option has been prepared, and can be viewed here. This option was selected due to reduced bridge length with flood immunity and fewer piers in the Macquarie River.

Detailed site investigations, environmental impact assessments and agreements with impacted landowners are currently underway.

Feedback from the community is part of the project development and can be provided below. Feedback closes 30 November.
